In a separate but related development, Ukrainian air defense forces successfully neutralized aerial threats by shooting down nine Shahed-131/136 UAVs and one Kh-59 guided missile during the early hours of June 8. Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, confirmed these defensive actions.

Moreover, mobile firing groups of the Armed Forces and electronic warfare systems were active, intercepting targets across the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, showcasing a robust response to the ongoing threats.
