Russian strike on Mykolaivka in Donetsk Oblast kills five people

Russian forces attacked the town of Mykolaivka in Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, killing five people and injuring two others, regional governor Vadym Filashkin said on May 27.

Five private homes, three apartment buildings and three administrative buildings were damaged in the settlement, regional authorities said. Russian forces shelled populated areas in Donetsk Oblast 18 times over the past day.

In Sloviansk, a private house was damaged. One person was injured in Bilenke of the Kramatorsk community. An administrative building was damaged in Novodonetske, while a vehicle was damaged in Znamenivka of the Oleksandrivka community.

In Druzhkivka, Russian forces damaged a private home, according to the regional military administration.

On May 24, Russian forces dropped an aerial bomb on an apartment building in Druzhkivka. A 70-year-old woman was killed in the attack.

Five other people were injured, including a man and women aged 40, 44, 45, 69 and 73.
