Russian attack on Kryvyi Rih sparks fire, injures three men, two seriously

Updated at 7:14 p.m. In Kryvyi Rih, two men, ages 55 and 34, were hospitalized in serious condition, while a 61-year-old man was hospitalized in moderate condition, Hanzha said. He added that infrastructure and a vehicle were damaged in the city.

At 3:16 p.m., Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha reported the attack.

“A fire broke out. A man was injured. The consequences are being assessed,” he said.

Kryvyi Rih Mayor Oleksandr Vilkul also reported the strike at 3:49 p.m., saying two people had been injured. He said the electricity situation had been stabilized and firefighters were continuing to battle the blaze.

At 4:19 p.m., Vilkul said both injured men were in serious condition. A 61-year-old man with multiple injuries was in serious but stable condition, while doctors were fighting to save another man in surgery after he suffered a traumatic leg amputation.

Neither Hanzha nor Vilkul said what type of weapon was used in the attack. Shortly before their statements, the Ukrainian Air Force reported a Russian missile attack, with missiles detected over Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
