The attack targeted Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi district. Emergency crews are working at the scene of the attack.
Terekhov added that a second Russian Shahed drone struck the city’s Slobidskyi district, damaging six houses in a residential neighborhood, an administrative building, and several vehicles. One person was wounded in the strike.
At roughly 11:00 a.m. local time, the Ukrainian Air Force reported Russian jet-powered drones approaching Kharkiv. Explosions resounded across the city shortly after.
A Russian airstrike hit an Epicentr home improvement store near Kharkiv on August 27, killing one person and wounding five others. According to the prosecutor's office, Russian forces deployed a jet-powered Geran-4 Seeker drone in the attack.
Another Epicentr store was hit on August 28 – this time in Zaporizhzhya – causing a large-scale fire.
