The State Emergency Service reported that the missile strike on the children’s hospital grounds in the Shevchenkivskyi district left two large craters, shattered windows, and ruptured a gas pipe, triggering a leak that utility crews have since contained.
Hospital staff and pediatric patients had already evacuated to air raid shelters before impact, resulting in zero injuries or casualties at the medical center.
Footage published by Suspilne detailed the destruction inside the children’s hospital grounds, showing a deep impact crater and widespread blast damage where the Russian missile struck.
The State Emergency Service clarified that one person was injured across the capital as a result of the overnight Russian assault.
The single injury occurred at a separate location within the Shevchenkivskyi district, where a missile strike tore through a warehouse and ignited a 1,200-square-meter blaze that first responders successfully extinguished by 7:20 a.m.
The broader Kyiv region also came under overnight assault from a mix of drones and ballistic missiles, with reports of damage to warehouses and three commercial trucks in the Bucha district.
In total, Russian forces 11 ballistic and hypersonic missiles alongside 120 attack drones against Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia in the overnight barrage, with air defenses intercepting 98 of the drones but failing to down any of the missiles.
