More than 21 people were killed and at least 20 others were injured by a Russian bomb in the village of Yarova in Ukraine’s frontline Donetsk Oblast, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on Telegram on Sep. 9, posting a video of the aftermath.
The bomb hit people waiting in line for their monthly pension payments.
"A truly brutal Russian airstrike hit the village of Yarova in Donetsk Oblast. Directly on people. Ordinary civilians. It hit at the moment when pensions were being paid out. According to preliminary reports, over 20 people have died. There are no words. My condolences to all the families and friends of the victims," Zelenskyy wrote.
A video shows the bodies of the victims and a mangled car, likely a Ukrposhta vehicle.
According to Regional Governor Vadym Filashkin, all emergency services are at the scene. Victims are receiving assistance. The exact number of those killed and injured is being verified.
