On the morning of March 6, Russian invaders attempted to break through with a column of armored vehicles, including around 25 units, targeting the positions of Ukraine’s 24th King Danylo Motorized Rifle Brigade.
However, the assault was unsuccessful, with Ukrainian infantry, artillery, and drone crews successfully blocking the Russian advance.
“As a result, the Russian column became trapped in a ‘traffic jam’ of damaged vehicles, obstructing the crossing. Those who survived attempted to retreat, but not everyone made it out,” the brigade reported.
The attack resulted in the loss of 11 Russian vehicles, with five others damaged.
Some Russian soldiers dismounted but were reportedly met with heavy resistance.
Preliminary reports indicate at least 33 Russian casualties, either killed or wounded.
