The Russian Defense Ministry claims that 158 drones were
intercepted during an attack on 15 Russian oblasts in the early hours of Sept.1. However, various social media channels are showing numerous videos of
successful drone strikes within Russian territory.
“A total of 158 Ukrainian UAVs of aircraft type have been
destroyed and intercepted by air defense systems,” the ministry’s press service
stated.
The alleged drone losses are detailed as follows:
- 46 drones over Kursk Oblast
- 34 drones over Bryansk Oblast
- 28 drones over Voronezh Oblast
- 14 drones over Belgorod Oblast
- Eight drones over Ryazan Oblast
- Two drones over Moscow
- Seven drones over Moscow Oblast
- Five drones over Kaluga Oblast
- Four drones over Lipetsk Oblast
- Three drones over Tula Oblast
- Two drones over Tambov Oblast
- Two drones over Smolensk Oblast
- One drone each over Oryol, Tver, and Ivanovo oblasts.
Meanwhile, Russian media and social media are sharing numerous videos of fires in Russian regions following the drone attack.
Two
power plants in Moscow and Tver oblasts, as well as the Moscow Oil Refinery,
were reportedly targeted.
