Two killed as Russian drones strike houses in Sumy Oblast

Russian forces launched a drone barrage on Sumy Oblast’s Okhtyrka and Sumy district on July 6, killing two people, regional governor Oleh Hryhorov reported.

He stated that a Russian drone struck a house in the border village of Velyka Pysarivka, killing the homeowner.

“The man would have turned 58 tomorrow,” Hryhorov noted.

A second drone struck a house in the village of Stetskivka.

“A 65-year-old man who was on the property was critically injured. He was hospitalized, but unfortunately, he later died,” Hryhorov said.

Russia launched a large-scale attack on Sumy using guided aerial bombs and drones on the evening of July 3. A guided bomb strike on one of the city's central streets killed at least four people, including a 5-year-old child. Another 33 people were injured.

The attack struck an apartment building, sparking a massive fire.

The strikes also wounded three men.
