A Russian Shahed drone struck part of a Nova Poshta cargo facility in Odesa overnight, the company said in a statement on May 1. The office was closed at the time of the attack, and the drone failed to detonate.
“No one was injured,” the company reported.
Nova Poshta said it deployed a mobile office to handle packages weighing up to 30 kilograms and does not expect delays in deliveries. The company is currently assessing the extent of the damage.
The strike was part of a larger Russian attack on Odesa during the night, which killed two people and injured at least 15 others, local officials said. Residential buildings, private homes, a supermarket, a school, and several vehicles were damaged.
Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine’s national railway company, said railway infrastructure in Odesa Oblast was also targeted. One section of track was damaged, along with the contact network and three freight cars.
