A Russian drone struck an apartment building in Sumy, injuring a 16-year-old boy and a woman, the Sumy Regional Military Administration said on Oct. 6.

The boy suffered minor injuries and is receiving medical treatment, officials said. A woman was also injured and received medical assistance at the scene.

The Sumy Oblast Military Administration said Russian forces deliberately targeted a residential area of the regional capital.

The attack also damaged windows in an apartment building and a kindergarten. The children were in a shelter at the time of the attack, and none were injured.

A Russian attack on Sumy on Oct. 4 destroyed the Kusum pharmaceutical plant, owned by India’s Kusum Group, and killed an employee.

On the morning of Oct. 4, Russian forces struck the Zarichnyi district of Sumy with guided aerial bombs. The city was also attacked by drones. One person was killed.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian forces targeted a pharmaceutical warehouse in Sumy with drones.
