Russia hits Kharkiv with drone, one killed and two injured

Russian forces carried out a drone strike on Kharkiv’s Kholodnohirskyi district, killing one person and injuring two others, the city’s mayor Ihor Terekhov said on March 18.

A strike was recorded on the outskirts of Kharkiv. Windows were shattered in private houses near the impact site.

Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Synehubov added that Russia struck a residential area. A 54-year-old man was killed, and among the injured was a 45-year-old man who was hospitalized.

Work at the site of the Russian strike is ongoing, the regional administration said.

Explosions were also heard overnight in Kharkiv and the region. According to the Air Force, Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight on March 18 with 147 drones.

Earlier, Ukrainian Railways said that the direct Intercity train from Kyiv to Kharkiv will operate only as far as Poltava starting today.
