Russian drone lands in toddler's crib in Kherson home

Russian forces attacked the city of Kherson with strike drones on Aug. 18. One of the drones hit a house and landed in a crib where a 2-year-old boy was sleeping, according to Ukraine's National Police.

The child was not injured, though the boy and his mother went to the hospital as a precaution. Their lives are currently not in danger.

Police, together with volunteers, are organizing the family's evacuation to a safer city.

Police also said Russian forces carried out numerous strikes across Kherson Oblast over the previous 24 hours. In the village of Novokairy, an FPV drone killed two men, ages 58 and 67. 12 other people were wounded, including two police officers who, according to law enforcement, were attacked by a Russian FPV drone in Kherson.

Also among those hurt were a minibus driver, drivers of civilian vehicles, and residents of Kherson, Novovorontsovka, Havrylivka, and Bilozerka.

On Aug. 12, a Russian drone attacked two men in Kherson's Korabelnyi district, killing them. According to the regional military administration, the strike occurred around 9:50 p.m.; the identities of the victims were being determined at the time.
