At least two people were injured in a massive Russian combined drone and missile attack on densely populated residential areas of Kyiv overnight, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on Telegram early on Oct. 22.

The attack caused multiple fires in four districts of the Ukrainian capital.

In the Dniprovskyi district, debris from a downed drone hit a 16-story apartment building, sparking a fire. One person was killed, and ten residents were rescued.

In the Pecherskyi district, debris from a Russian missile caused another fire that has since been extinguished.

In the Darnytskyi district drones hit an industrial enterprise, torching a nearby 17-story apartment building, a two-story administrative building, and a hangar.

In the Solomyanskyi district, a garage complex was damaged.

First responders are at the sites. Emergency efforts are ongoing.

The number of casualties and extent of the damage are still being assessed and verified.
