Russian Shahed drone strike hits Zaporizhzhya: homes damaged, fires erupt, one person injured

Russian invaders attacked Zaporizhzhya and surrounding areas overnight using 14 UAVs and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), regional governor Ivan Fedorov said.

The strikes damaged several private homes, shattered windows, and affected the facade of a multi-story residential building. Multiple fires were reported, Fedorov said.

A 69-year-old woman was injured in the attack and is currently receiving medical assistance, he added.

“A result of the UAV attack was damage to private houses. Several fires broke out. One person was injured,” Fedorov wrote on social media.

Emergency crews are continuing to assess the full extent of the damage.

Earlier reports indicated that a fire had also broken out at a local enterprise following the Russian strike.
