“Russian forces have attacked oil transportation infrastructure in southern Ukraine with drones for two consecutive days. Damage and destruction have been recorded at one of the pumping stations,” he said. “Fortunately, no one was killed. This is far from the first attack on different sections of our infrastructure.”
According to Koretskyi, the reason for Russia’s deliberate attacks on pumping stations in southern Ukraine is to prevent alternative supplies of non-Russian oil to Europe.
Units of the State Emergency Service and Naftogaz specialists are working to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.
Since the beginning of 2026 alone, Russia has carried out more than 30 attacks on infrastructure facilities belonging to the Naftogaz group, Koretskyi said.
As previously reported, on Feb. 12 Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said that supplies of Russian oil intended for Eastern Europe and transit through the Ukrainian section of the Druzhba pipeline had been suspended since Jan. 27 due to a Russian attack.
According to information obtained by NV Business, a Russian Shahed drone struck critical equipment at the Brody oil pumping station in Lviv region on Jan. 27. The attack triggered a large fire that took several days to extinguish. Part of the equipment was completely destroyed by the fire, and some components are currently unavailable on the market.
The Druzhba pipeline is a key route for oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia.
