Russian forces have advanced near Zelene and in Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, according to maps by DeepState on Apr. 16.

“The enemy advanced near Zelenе (Polohy district, Zaporizhzhia Oblast) and in Huliaipole (Polohy district, Zaporizhzhia Oblast),” the statement said.

On April 12, DeepState reported that Russian forces had occupied the village of Myrne in the Huliaipole district of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Advances were also recorded near the settlement of Veterynarne and the village of Petropavlivka in the Kharkiv region, as well as near the village of Ivanopillia in the Donetsk region.

On March 11, DeepState co-founder Roman Pohorilyi said in an interview with Radio NV that Huliaipole is virtually under occupation and the initiative there is not on the side of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

On March 15, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi said Russia currently views the Zaporizhzhia direction as a priority and is concentrating significant forces and resources there. According to Syrskyi, the intensity of offensive operations in the Huliaipole area is significantly higher compared with other directions.
