Russian forces attempting to flank Vuhledar in Donetsk Oblast — DeepState / The New Voice of Ukraine

Russian troops have launched new assaults in Donetsk Oblast, attempting to flank the town of Vuhledar, open-source intelligence analysts at DeepState reported on Sept. 2.

“Yesterday, a critical situation unfolded in Vodyane [north-east of Vuhledar], where Russian forces entered the village with four units of military equipment and airborne troops,” the message said.

“Efforts are ongoing to drive them out, and fighting continues.”

Analysts noted that enemy troops entered a nearby mine.

Additionally, two columns of Russian troops moved towards the village of Prechystivka (west of Vuhledar) and later combined into one column with eight units of military equipment. The Russians entered the settlement from the direction of the village of Pavlivka. Fighting continues in the area, according to the report.
