Russian forces are concentrating their efforts near School No. 3 in Kurakhove, Donetsk Oblast.

This was reported by the DeepState analytical project on the evening of Nov. 12.

It was noted that for the past two days, Russian forces have been making mechanized incursions into the area around the school, disembarking infantry, and then attempting to retreat.

According to DeepState, the situation has developed where the enemy is deep behind the front line, as there are no confirmations that they control the eastern part of Kurakhove.

Analysts explained that the occupiers are trying to establish a foothold and force Ukraine’s Defense Forces to retreat beyond a ravine that cuts through the eastern part of the city.

Troops from the 46th Separate Airborne Brigade are destroying Russian military equipment and personnel, but the situation remains difficult.

The situation in Kurakhove

On Nov. 11, DeepState reported that Russian forces were storming Kurakhove from the north, south, and east, advancing from the flanks to control the crucial N15 Zaporizhzhya-Donetsk highway for Ukraine’s military.

On the same day, Russian occupiers destroyed the dam of the Kurakhiv Reservoir. Roman Padun, head of the Kurakhove military-civil administration, stated that villages along the Vovcha River were experiencing rising water levels.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believes that Russian forces may have targeted the Kurakhiv Reservoir dam to cause significant and prolonged flooding to the west, which would assist Russia’s efforts to encircle Ukrainian troops to the north and south of Kurakhove.

On Nov. 13, the ISW noted that the Russian military had advanced within Kurakhove and to the south of it during two mechanized assaults.
