“Critically important equipment at production facilities was damaged and destroyed in the attack,” Naftogaz CEO Serhii Koretskyi said.
“Personnel at one of the attacked facilities were evacuated. Most importantly, there were no injuries.”
Emergency services are working at the scenes.
The impact of the attack and the extent of the damage are still being assessed.
Naftogaz CEO Serhii Koretskyi reported that Russian drones struck multiple Naftogaz facilities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast overnight on May 17-18, damaging critical civilian infrastructure and injuring two workers.
Russian forces carried out drone and missile strikes on Poltava Oblast on May 5. Local authorities reported that four people were killed in the attacks, including two rescue workers and two Naftogaz employees.
Russian forces later launched a ‘double-tap’ attack on rescue crews working on the scene, injuring 23 State Emergency Service workers.
