Ukrainian forces down 32 Russian UAVs and two Kinzhal missiles during recent air assault

During the night and morning of Oct. 7, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with ballistic and guided air missiles as well as attack drones, and Ukrainian air defense shot down 32 drones and two Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, according to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

During the night, Russian forces targeted Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile, a Kh-59 guided missile, an unidentified missile from the Kursk and Belgorod oblasts, and attack drones.

Around 8:20 a.m., the enemy launched three Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from three MiG-31K aircraft.

In total, air defense forces detected more than 80 aerial targets, successfully intercepting two Kinzhal missiles in Kyiv Oblast and downing 32 drones across Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Kharkiv oblasts.

The third Kinzhal missile struck the area of the Starokostyantyniv airfield in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, and a drone was shot down in Kharkiv near the front lines, according to the Air Force.

Another 37 drones were reportedly lost in various oblasts of Ukraine, likely due to active countermeasures, with one UAV still in the air, the Armed Forces reported.
