Five killed in Russian artillery strike on Buhaivka in Kharkiv Oblast

Russian forces launched a massive artillery strike on a residential area in the village of Buhaivka on August 10, killing five people, according to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The attack also destroyed multiple homes.

Law enforcement officials have launched a pre-trial war crimes investigation into the lethal attack under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The front-line monitoring group DeepState reported previously on August 4 that Russian forces advanced near the border village of Ustynivka in Kharkiv Oblast. Moving along the border with Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, the Russian army expanded its zone of control by 3.15 square kilometers to a total of 7.82 square kilometers.

The State Border Guard Service previously announced on July 23 that Russian forces had intensified military operations in northern Kharkiv, deploying small infantry units in repeated attempts to breach the border.
