Russian invaders shelled two Ukrposhta postal branches in Ukraine’s Donetsk and Sumy oblasts, the state-run company said on April 8.

“Today (April 7) the enemy destroyed the branch in Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast. We are patching up what we can. We are continuing our work. Earlier, the Russians destroyed a stationary branch in Sumy Oblast, but we installed a modular one. As of yesterday (April 6), it is gone,” the message says.

Ukrposhta Director General Igor Smelyansky said that the container-type branch in Sumy Oblast, installed to replace the destroyed one, was destroyed by a Russian drone.

He noted that Ukrposhta is currently actively developing a project for modular branches together with foreign partners.

Ukrposhta has taken into account negative experience, so the new branches will have a better level of protection.

Smelyansky noted that the branch team in Kostiantynivka resumed work after the Russian attack, removing debris and damage.

The CEO of Ukrposhta added that in both cases, employees and customers were not harmed.

On Feb. 20, he stated that Russian invaders had destroyed the Ukrposhta branch in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast.
