Russian forces struck a passenger bus in Kherson, killing two people and wounding five others, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported on July 1.

Prokudin confirmed that the strikes targeted the city’s central district at roughly 7 a.m.

Preliminary reports indicated that the attack killed two people and wounded five others.

Prokudin added that details on casualties and damage are still being assessed.

This is not the first such incident in the area. Russian forces earlier carried out a drone strike on a bus in Kherson’s Korabelnyi district on June 16, killing one passenger and wounding three others.

Russian forces later targeted an ambulance responding to the scene of the initial attack, wounding two medical workers.
