The agent’s mission, once admitted to the school, was to locate the combat and reconnaissance drone operators’ training grounds and identify the bases of Ukrainian special purpose units and their UAVs in order to prepare targeted airstrikes on the Ukrainian Air Force and SBU facilities. A financial reward was promised in exchange.
The Russian agent was caught photographing one of the military units in the Ukrainian capital.
The suspect is a 49-year-old entrepreneur from Kyiv, who was remotely recruited by the FSB two months ago. He came to the enemy's attention through his anti-Ukrainian posts on a Russian Telegram channel.
Bank cards and computer equipment used for reconnaissance and sabotage activities against Ukraine were found during the search of the detainee's residence.
The agent is currently in custody and faces possible life imprisonment under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed during a state of war).
The investigation is ongoing.
