Russian forces launched attacks on four thermal power plants belonging to Ukraine's DTEK overnight, causing injuries and significant damage to the equipment, the company reported on Telegram on April 27.
Energy workers are mobilizing to address the aftermath of the attack, as preliminary reports indicate injuries.
DTEK's thermal power plants have endured over 170 attacks since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, the company said.
Ukraine's Energy Ministry earlier reported that the Russians targeted energy facilities in Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv oblasts, damaging equipment. A shift supervisor was injured in one facility.
Russia massively attacked Ukraine on the evening of April 26 and early hours of April 27. Explosions were heard, in particular, in Dnipropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts. 13 missiles were shot down in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast alone, according to the regional authorities.
