Death toll rises to five - could grow higher - in Russian ballistic missile attack on Odesa

The number of people killed in Russia's April 29 missile attack on Odesa has increased to five, Odesa Oblast Military Administration head, Oleh Kiper, announced on Telegram.

A man born in 1960 who was injured during the Russian rocket attack has since died in the hospital.

23 injured civilians continue to be treated in medical facilities, he added.

Four people are in critical condition, including a 4-year-old girl, while eight others are in serious condition.

"Our doctors are doing the best they can," Kiper said.

Russian missile strike on Odesa on April 29

A Russian missile attack on Odesa killed at least three and injured at least 20, Kiper originally reported on April 29, with Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov confirming the casualty figures.


“As it stands, the death toll as a result of the attack has risen to three; my sincere condolences to the victims’ families,” said Trukhanov.

The ballistic missile attack damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in the city.
