Russian Shahed drones strike energy facility in Odesa Oblast

Russian invaders launched Shahed drones at Odesa Oblast overnigh, sparking a fire at an energy infrastructure facility, regional Gov. Oleh Kiper said on Jan. 18.

A production building and company property were damaged. There were no casualties.

The State Emergency Service said firefighters promptly extinguished a blaze at an energy facility. A passenger car was also damaged.

Overnight, Russia attacked Ukraine with 201 drones, with 30 drones recorded hitting 15 locations. Air defenses neutralized 167 Russian UAVs, the Ukrainian Air Force said.

On Jan. 17, Russia also struck energy facilities in Odesa Oblast. The regional military administration said that critical infrastructure and life-support facilities in Oblast were operating normally.
