A Russian dry-bulk freighter, Panormitis, is returning to
the Black Sea after failed
attempts to unload grain in Israel and Turkey, SeaKrime journalist Kateryna
Yaresko reported
on May 25.
Investigators believe the ship may be carrying grain taken from occupied Ukrainian ports of Berdyansk and Kerch, Yaresko specified.
Yaresko said Panormitis has entered the Dardanelles. Journalists suspect the vessel is heading back to Russia, where it could unload in Kavkaz or Novorossiysk.
On April 25, SeaKrime reported that Panormitis had headed for Haifa, where it was refused. The ship then tried to unload in Iskenderun, Turkey, but that attempt also failed.
“Return of the ship to the Black Sea would mean the
compromised cargo will be offered to another buyer,” Yaresko wrote.
