Russian attack cripples energy grid in Kirovohrad Oblast

Nineteen settlements were left without electricity after an overnight Russian attack on critical infrastructure in Ukraine’s central Kirovohrad Oblast, regional Governor Andriy Raikovych reported on Telegram on Oct. 24.
According to the State Emergency Service (SES) fires broke out at several sites in the Novoukrainskyi district.

On Oct. 23, Energy Minister Svitlana Grynchuk reported that power engineers had restored electricity to the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, which had relied on emergency diesel generators for nearly a month following another Russian attack on the power grid.
