The rented warehouse held supplies for emergency response,
medical facilities, and vulnerable people, the statement said. It said the
stockpile included generators, heat pumps, and medical equipment such as
stretchers, defibrillators, ultrasound machines, and patient monitors.
“The destroyed warehouse was one of the Ukrainian Red Cross’s key logistics centers,” the URCS said.
“Humanitarian projects supporting the population were
coordinated from here.”
The Red Cross said the attack destroyed a strategic reserve
of emergency humanitarian aid kept for shelling, fires, evacuations, and other
crises. The reserve included blankets, bedding sets, hygiene kits, tarpaulins,
film for emergency window repairs, sleeping kits, and other basic necessities.
In total, the organization said 320,000 items and pieces of equipment were
lost, with a combined value of more than $1.76 million.
The Russian attack included 74 missiles of various types and
nearly 500 drones. At least 23 civilians were killed in Kyiv, with most of the
casualties caused by enemy missiles hitting residential high-rises.
