Russia strikes Epicentr and residential buildings near Odesa, injuring nine

Updated at 6:07 p.m. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported that a Russian attack in the Odesa district destroyed part of a shopping center, sparking a fire and igniting dry vegetation nearby. Rescuers extinguished the blaze and prevented it from spreading despite repeated air raid alerts.

The State Emergency Service also said that at another location, the Russian attack destroyed two private homes and damaged two vehicles and a gas pipe.

The agency published photos and video showing emergency crews responding to the aftermath of the Russian attack.

Updated at 5:16 p.m. The number of people injured in a second Russian attack, which destroyed two residential buildings, rose to five, Kiper reported. According to him, four of the injured were hospitalized, with one in serious condition. Emergency response efforts are continuing.

Updated at 5 p.m. Suspilne published video showing one of the people injured in the Russian strike on an Epicentr store in the Odesa suburbs. The footage also shows firefighters responding to the aftermath of the attack.

Updated at 4:55 p.m. The communications department of the Odesa Operational-Tactical Group told Ukrinform that the strike caused a fire at a Nova Poshta warehouse located inside the Epicentr building at the 7th Kilometer.

Updated at 4:43 p.m. Russian forces again attacked civilian infrastructure in Odesa Oblast, destroying two residential buildings, Kiper reported. According to preliminary information, three people were injured in the attack.

Dumska reported that one person injured in the strike on a private home near Odesa was in extremely serious condition. An engine, possibly from a jet-powered Shahed drone, was reportedly lying on the street near the house.

Updated at 4:21 p.m. The number of injured rose to four, three of whom were hospitalized, Kiper reported. The injured include a 42-year-old woman and three men ages 32 to 43. Emergency response efforts are continuing.

Updated at 3:13 p.m. A 42-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were injured in the strike and hospitalized with shrapnel wounds, Kiper said.

Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper reported that a jet-powered drone struck a postal facility inside a shopping center. He said one of the two people initially reported injured was hospitalized and that information about the consequences of the attack was still being clarified.

Dumska reported that Russia was attacking Odesa with Shahed drones and that, according to preliminary information, one of them struck a home improvement hypermarket in the suburbs.

Dumska also published video from a local Telegram channel captioned “the moment of the strike on Epicentr,” showing an impact on the hypermarket building.
