Russian forces carried out a series of strikes on Sumy, damaging an apartment building and a shopping mall and attacking emergency crews as they battled a fire, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said on July 21.

The State Emergency Service said the attack damaged a residential building, a shopping center and the surrounding area.

According to the agency, a jet-powered drone struck a nine-story residential building, sparking a fire on the first floor. Rescuers evacuated residents, and six people, including four children, were injured in the attack.

The strike also sparked a major fire at a shopping center. The State Emergency Service said Russian forces carried out repeated strikes while firefighters were working to extinguish the blaze.
