Situation near Kupyansk
On Nov. 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Armed Forces would fully clear Kupyansk of Russian troops, noting that the operation date has been set but not disclosed yet.
On Nov. 2, Viktor Trehubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces Grouping, stated that Defense Forces struck Russians in Kupyansk, slowing their advance.
He noted that the situation in the Kupyansk sector remains challenging, but Ukrainian forces are holding back the enemy and preventing them from reaching the city center.
On Oct. 29, the Joint Forces Grouping reported fierce fighting near Kupyansk, with Russian troops trying to entrench in the northern part of the city, but there is no talk of "encirclement" of Ukrainian forces.
Previously, on Oct. 28, Trehubov said Russian forces are present in the northern part of Kupyansk and are trying to push closer to the city center using small assault group tactics.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that despite the difficult situation in Kupyansk, the Defense Forces continue to hold their positions.
