Russian soldiers from the 144th Guards Motor Rifle Division
executed a wounded Ukrainian service member near Katerynivka, Donetsk Oblast, open-source
intelligence project DeepState reported on April 8.
Russian propaganda released footage showing an assault near Katerynivka. In one segment of the video, two Russian troops are seen shooting a Ukrainian soldier whose helmet was marked with green tape.
“The Ukrainian soldier, judging by the visible wounds, still shows signs of life, yet two bastards then kill him,” report said.
On March 13, Ukrainian ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that Russian forces had executed five unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war, citing a video circulating on social media.
