The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that there was an attempted drone attack on occupied Crimea, as reported by the Krymsky Veter (Crimean Wind) Telegram channel on Nov. 22.

The Russian ministry said that at around 7.30 a.m. on the same day, three drones were allegedly “destroyed by air defenses.” The Russian invaders have “closed off the raid” at the bay in Sevastopol, the ministry said.

Explosions are regularly heard in Crimea, with the Russians attributing them to the “work of air defenses.” They often also close the Crimean Bridge to traffic and set off smoke screens around it, apparently in an attempt to “disguise” it and prevent missile or drone attacks on the illegal structure.

Since the summer, Ukraine has conducted several successful special operations on the peninsula, damaging several ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, and forcing the fleet to relocate many of its ships from Sevastopol in Ukraine’s Russian-occupied Crimea to Novorossiysk, in Russia.
