Explosions rock Kharkiv as Russia strikes it with guided aerial bombs, one person reported dead

Synehubov added that strike caused a fire in a private
house. According to him, a 78-year-old man has an acute stress reaction. At
least two private houses were destroyed.
Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv mayor, said that a woman of
retirement age died as a result of strike. Later it became known that
two people were injured.
Terekhov also said that there was an explosion in the Kholodnohirsky
district of Kharkiv. A tram with passengers was damaged.
He later said that private sector of Kharkiv was hit,
several buildings were destroyed, and people are trapped under rubble. Search
and rescue operations are currently underway.
Ukrainian Air Force also warned about Russian guided aerial
bombs in Kharkiv Oblast.
Russian strikes on Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast
Recently, strikes on Kharkiv and the oblast has become more
frequent. In particular, on night of April 27, Russian troops launched rocket
attacks on the Saltovsky district of Kharkiv. Regional psychiatric hospital and
a medical complex in city came under attack.
Synehubov said that families with children in 47 frontline
settlements in Kharkiv Oblast were forcibly evacuated.
He said that the enemy started to attack settlements that
were not attacked a month ago.
Synehubov also said that the Russians changed their tactics
and are now striking twice at the same place, targeting Ukrainian emergency
services.
After most massive Russian attack on the power system on March
22, Kharkiv was almost completely left without electricity. Blackout
schedules were in effect in the oblast.
