The woman worked at a local catering business frequented by Ukrainian troops and was allegedly recruited by an employee of a Russian Defense Ministry hospital via a pro-Russian Telegram channel.
The Ukrainian intelligence agency said her identity has been confirmed.
She allegedly relayed information to Russia’s military intelligence agency, the GRU, including photos and videos of Ukrainian soldiers and vehicles.
The SBU said she secretly filmed the footage while walking to work, disguising the surveillance as a video call to avoid suspicion.
The suspect has been charged under Part 2 of Article 111 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code — high treason committed under martial law. She remains in custody and faces a possible life sentence with confiscation of property.
