A Ukrainian Navy serviceman from the unmanned special-purpose brigade has been detained on suspicion of collaborating with Russia and preparing an attack on Sea Baby and Magura marine drones, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) reported on Telegram on Jan. 29.
The investigation revealed that the officer acted as a Russian informant, collecting the geolocations of naval drone bases, storage sites, and patrol routes. He intended to pass this information to a Russian contact.
The SBU stated that the suspect was apprehended before he could transmit data for a missile strike and that measures had been taken to secure Navy facilities. Authorities seized a phone containing classified information during searches.
