The woman planted an improvised explosive device under a truck and planned to detonate it remotely using two mobile phones connected to the bomb.
The suspect arrived in Odesa on instructions from Russian security services, rented an apartment, assembled the explosive and concealed it in a metal container, officials said. The SBU neutralized the device in advance and detained the woman.
According to the agency, the detainee is a resident of Chernivtsi who was recruited by Russian security services via Telegram.
During searches, components for making bombs and other evidence of cooperation with occupying forces were seized from her.
Investigators notified her of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 2 of Article 258 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code (attempted terrorist act). She is currently in custody without the right to bail and faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
