Seven settlements in Russia’s Kursk Oblast have been left without power after a substation in the village of Snagost was hit in a drone strike carried out by Ukraine’s SBU security service, a source within the agency told NV on Sept. 26.

The attack was conducted in response to Moscow’s continued attempts to target Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

“The Russians must understand that if they continue to attack Ukrainian energy facilities, they will receive a tough response,” our source said.

“Our resources allow us to do that. So I really want the Russians to experience what blackouts, outages, and the search for generators are like.”

The governor of Russia's Kursk Oblast, Roman Starovoit, said that a UAV attacked an administrative building in the center of Kursk on Sept. 24. At the same time, locals reported on Telegram that a drone had attacked the FSB building in the city.

There was a “direct hit” on the FSB building in Kursk, according to Ukraine’s Military Intelligence (HUR).

In addition to the FSB building, another drone hit an oil refinery near the local airfield, Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne reported on the same, citing HUR sources.
