“We've always said the situation is complex, challenging, and now it's critically difficult,” Petrichak stated.
“The enemy outnumbers us and is advancing along the entire line of contact in our zone of responsibility, as well as in adjacent sectors of the front, such as Kostyantynivka.”
The spokesperson added that Russian troops continue to advance in small infiltration groups, utilizing all available weaponry.
“Lately, we've noticed a significant increase in guided bomb strikes… They’re literally covering every meter of land with guided bombs,” Petrichak said.
“They mostly shelled populated areas before, but now they can even saturate whole fields with guided bombs.”
The spokesperson noted that Russian forces in Kramatorsk are suffering substantial losses. Ukrainian forces have killed or wounded hundreds of Russian troops daily throughout 2026.
Russian forces launched a guided bomb on a supermarket in downtown Kramatorsk at 4:05 p.m. on July 4, wounding at least five people, including an 11-year-old boy.
