Slovakia closes all border crossings with Ukraine over security concerns

Slovakia closed all border crossings with Ukraine on May 13, citing unspecified security reasons, the country’s Financial Administration said.

“For security reasons, all border crossings on the border with Ukraine are closed today from approximately 3:00 p.m. until further notice,” the statement said.

“The Financial Administration recommends that the public monitor current information and respect the instructions of the Financial Administration and the Police Force. We will keep you informed about further developments in the situation.”

Earlier, Moldova’s Defense Ministry said that during a large Russian attack on Ukraine on May 13, one of the drones flew over Moldovan territory.

The drone reappeared at 4:55 p.m. near Colibasi in the Cahul district and at 4:58 p.m. flew over the village of Kishlytsia Prut in the same district, the ministry said. It again disappeared from radar near Giurgiulesti, the ministry added.
