Recent reports from some officials and journalists have sounded the alarm that Zaporizhzhya Oblast might soon face a renewed Russian push. DeepState notes that discussions about a large-scale advance on Zaporizhzhya, supposedly starting near Vasylivka, particularly in the Kamianske area, have been ongoing for about a month. However, analysts noted no significant accumulation of enemy troops near Vasylivka.
The exports added that two airborne assault divisions have been present in the area for some time, one of which has been partially relocated to another region. A new regiment, assembled from various military units, has also been observed.
“As of now, there is no significant activity in the Kamianske area, and if something were to start, we should prepare for it physically, rather than alarming the residents of Zaporizhzhya with daily statements,” the report reads.
“The situation in Robotyne also remains unchanged, with no signs of escalation.”
Analysts pointed out that discussions of a possible "offensive on Zaporizhzhya" often mention Russian military activity near Hulyaipole. DeepState suggested that these concerns are due to a “lack of geographical understanding.” They cited movements of Russian forces in the Rivnopil-Novoaderivka area and attempts to break through from Staromayorske to Makarivka.
They emphasized that Rivnopil and Makarivka are in Donetsk Oblast, which is geographically distant from the south. These settlements are not situated near Hulyaipole, making linking them to this location inappropriate.
“Moreover, it is unclear why Zaporizhzhya Oblast is mentioned in this context, given its proximity to Rivnopil but not as grounds for statements about an 'offensive on Zaporizhzhya,” the report stated.
