Though the official was not named, the suspension comes after former MP Ihor Mosiychuk alleged that Odesa Oblast military commissar, Yevhen Borysov purchased a Marbella, Spain villa for his mother for nearly $4.4 million, while his wife reportedly bought an UAH 8 million ($296,000) Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG in 2022.
The Southern Operational Command emphasized its commitment to zero tolerance for corruption, stating that such allegations damage public trust in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The group also urged not to equate individual actions with the entire army.
The suspended official is currently under a professional and personal profile check, and the Southern Command has pledged to assist the investigation.
Borysov has held the same position for years, noted Censor.net editor-in-chief Yuriy Butusov.
