The incident occurred at 4:31 a.m. on Oct. 4, when an SOF unit delivered a precise hit on the right side of the ship's power plant compartment.

The SOF noted that this is one of Russia's newest ships, commissioned into the Baltic Fleet on Dec. 29, 2022. It is equipped with the Kalibr-NK missile system.
Overnight into Aug. 24, SOF and Ukraine's SBU Security Service struck the Ust-Luga marine terminal in Russia's Leningrad Oblast and several other logistics sites.
The attack damaged a fractionation and gas condensate transshipment unit with a capacity of up to 6.9 million tons per year, a key facility for Russia's energy exports in the Baltic Sea.
