Ukrainian State Emergency Service bomb experts defused the warhead of a Russian Iskander-K cruise missile that crashed into a backyard without exploding in Chernihiv Oblast, the SES reported on Telegram on Oct. 11.

The warhead landed on a residential plot in the region but failed to detonate, the service said in a statement.

"The danger was especially high because residential buildings and a gas station were nearby," it added.

Specialists identified the munition and used specialized equipment to transport it for controlled destruction in a safe area.

In a separate incident, a Russian drone struck a utility company vehicle in the Semenivka community on the evening of Oct. 10, igniting a fire. A second strike hit another company vehicle during cleanup efforts.

One worker died at the scene, four others were wounded and hospitalized, and one of them later died in the hospital. Russian forces also shelled a responding fire crew.

Overnight into Oct. 11, Russia launched 78 drones against Ukraine, more than 40 of them Shahed types. Air defenses downed or jammed 54 of the drones, with 21 strikes recorded at six locations.
