"In 2023, the number of parcels [delivered] sent increased by 40%,” said Ukrposhta General Director Igor Smilyanskiy.
“It is also worth mentioning the 15 million parcels that Ukrposhta and Ukrzaliznytsia [Ukrainian Railways] transported together—a seamless and efficient collaboration between two state-owned enterprises."
Smilyanskiy emphasized the importance of a EUR 63 million ($68.9 million) loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank lending Ukrposhta EUR 30 million ($32.8 million) to finance investment in digitalization.
He also highlighted the establishment of air mail delivery links with the United States.
Looking forward to 2024, the manager identified digitalization as a top priority for the company. Ukrposhta aims to provide digital services to “100% of Ukrainian cities and towns,” coupled with implementing a filly automated parcel sorting process at 18 new mail sorting facilities.
Pending additional permits, Ukrposhta plans to extend banking and medicine delivery services coverage across the country.
