Ukraine's Defense Forces have struck five Russian oil refineries over the past few weeks, halting operations at two of them, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defense Council's Center for Countering Disinformation, said on Telegram on Nov. 20.

The targeted facilities include the Ryazan, Ilsky, Saratov, Orsk and Volgograd refineries, Kovalenko said. The Ryazan and Volgograd plants were forced to suspend work following the attacks.

On Nov. 11, long-range drones from Ukraine's SBU Security Service’s Special Operations Center hit the Orsknefteorgsintez refinery in Orsk, Orenburg Oblast — about 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine.

On Nov. 14, Defense Forces struck a refinery in Saratov Oblast and a fuel depot near Engels.

The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces confirmed a hit on the Ryazan refinery on Nov. 15. It is one of Russia's key producers of TS-1 aviation fuel.

Reuters reported in November that the Saratov, Ryazan and Volgograd refineries had halted operations.
