Celta Vigo, a quarterfinalist in this season’s Europa League, is interested in acquiring Ukrainian midfielder Heorhiy Sudakov from Benfica during the summer 2026 transfer window, Spanish outlet El Gol Digital reported on April 17.
According to the source, the Spanish club sees the 23-year-old as a player with high potential who could fit into its dynamic style of play. Benfica is reportedly open to negotiations for the transfer.
Sudakov joined Benfica on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk in summer 2025 for €6.75 million ($7.9 million), with an obligation to buy for €20.25 million ($23.8 million) at the end of the 2025/26 season. Shakhtar could earn an additional €5 million ($5.9 million) in performance bonuses.
This season, Sudakov has made 36 appearances for Benfica across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
Earlier reports indicated that Benfica head coach José Mourinho is not fully satisfied with Sudakov’s playing characteristics.
